Brian Hofer AIA has been a practicing architect for over 30 years.  Born and raised in Southern California, he developed a strong interest in the current and historic culture of architecture and art in his native region.  This interest led him to architecture graduate school, earning a Master’s degree from UCLA.  His initial professional work was with a Los Angeles firm specializing in hospitals, senior housing, and related projects.  After moving to Santa Barbara, he developed an initially residential practice which grew into a broader spectrum of work, often collaborating with other architects on a wide range of projects. Most recently, Brian’s focused on providing architectural services for healthcare facility projects, utilizing his extensive construction oversight experience for this building type.

In the various roles he’s taken on as part of his professional practice, Brian gains the most satisfaction in providing the ideal solution for a project, as well as helping to guide a project through construction challenges to an efficient and satisfying conclusion. He’s been a member of the Board of Directors for the Architectural Foundation of Santa Barbara for many years, and is currently the Board President.  Brian’s also been regularly involved with numerous community-based planning and design activities over the years.
